Hartford's Schauer Arts Center announces its 2018-19 performing arts season

"Art, Soul & Rock and Roll" will take over the Schauer Arts Center, as those three elements mark the overarching theme of its recently announced 2018-19 performing arts season, its eighteenth at its Hartford home at 147 N. Rural St. The season will start on Friday, Sept. 14, with a performance from the Grammy-nominated country act The Bellamy Brothers, followed over the next year by a variety of acts showcasing talent from across genres and the globe, from dance by the Milwaukee Ballet, to musical performances from Madison acts like The Mark Croft Band and Harmonious Wail, and tributes to international icons like the Bee Gees, Frank Sinatra and more.



Trump administration hit with lawsuits over low-income family-planning dollars

Changes to a decades-old federal program that provides birth control and other reproductive health care services to millions of low-income people each year prompted lawsuits that were filed against the Trump administration Wednesday. The National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association, represented by the American Civil Liberties Union, and three Planned Parenthood affiliates are fighting to preserve the Title X Family Planning Program, established in 1970.



Powerful politician wants two strip clubs closed Tuesday, April 10

UNDATED State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald wants two Dodge County strip clubs shut down after human trafficking charges were lodged against a man connected to the clubs. 45-year-old Christopher Childs of Hartford man faces charges of forcing women to prostitute themselves in two clubs; the Hardware Store in Clyman and TNT Gentlemans Club in Lebabon.
