Watertown man charged in high-speed I-94 pursuit

A $5,000 cash bond has been set for a 30-year-old Watertown man who led Jefferson County Sheriff's Office deputies on a high-speed chase last week. Appearing before Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Weston Tuesday, Jared M. Owens was charged with knowingly fleeing an officer, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of misdemeanor bailjumping.



Weber, Gruber finalists for Branch 1 judgeship

Two Jefferson County attorneys are finalists for the seat being vacated by Jefferson County Circuit Court Branch 1 Judge Jennifer Weston. Jefferson County Court Commissioner Jennifer Weber of Oconomowoc and Watertown City Attorney William Gruber of Hartland are expected to be interviewed by Gov. Scott Walker in May. Weston's resignation takes effect July 10. The judge submitted a letter in late February to state and county officials announcing her intention to retire after 29 years of public service, both as a court commissioner and judge.



Jefferson County mother claims skate rink violated her breastfeeding rights

Lillian Hacht says she and her family visited Skate Express in Watertown on Saturday. When she started breastfeeding her 9-month-old daughter Alaska, an employee approached her and demanded she move away from the concession stand or cover herself up.

Wisconsin adds jobs in March

Today, the Department of Workforce Development released the Bureau of Labor Statistics revisions for February 2018 and preliminary estimates for March 2018 covering the employment and job statistics for the state of Wisconsin. The data showed that Wisconsin's unemployment rate remained at a historic low of 2.9 percent, while the state added 8,900 private sector jobs from February 2018 to March 2018.
