Columbia County detectives arrested two men in connection with the March 27 burglary of a Cambria Oil Company convenience store in Cambria, Wisconsin. According to a news release, two search warrants were executed on Tuesday, April 17, resulting in the arrest of Landon Stanley, 21, of Columbus, and Nathan McCord, 19, of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
100 acres lost in grass marsh fire
A grass marsh fire got out of control Sunday morning at N6301 Wren Road. The Beaver Dam Fire department was notified by Dodge County Central Communications that resident Randy Hupf was burning items in his backyard when it got out of control.
Semi hits Amtrak passenger train in south-central Wisconsin
The Wisconsin State Journal reports that the semi apparently struck the Amtrak Empire Builder passenger train about five miles east of the Amtrak station in Columbus, Wisconsin, on Friday. Nobody on the train was injured but two train cars were damaged.
